Land of the Frauds

Death, Slavery, and the Retreat From Sadness

If I Had A Nickel For Every Time DJ Trump Got Impeached, I’d Have Two Nickels. Not Much, But It’s Weird That It Happened Twice, Right?

The American political structure is rotten to the core and every other person is a miserable little pile of greed. From Betsy DeVos to Ted Cruz, they’re all just a bunch of gremlins with a one-track mind. When I started writing this I thought I’d zero in on DeVos but then Mitch McConnell refused to call the Senate in for a special session after Trump was impeached for a historic second time.

In December 2019, Trump became only the third president to be impeached and now he has a second impeachment on record after, quite literally, leading an insurrection against the US government. His exact words were “We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesn’t happen,” and “We are going to the Capitol.” Because of his refusal to accept the election results and encouraging his cult members to storm a government building (in which McConnell was complicit), the Confederate flag made it inside the Capitol—something no one could do even during the damn Civil War. And Mitch McConnell is still twiddling his thumbs and refusing to call for a special session.

This is the same man who denied millions of Americans any real relief during a pandemic. He begrudgingly let us have $1200 and said, “Yeah! That’s plenty of money for entire families in this capitalist hell!” And now he’s refusing to call for a special session so the Senate can convict the asshole—after he rushed Amy Coney Barrett’s hearing even though a large part of the country was against it and she’s ill fitted for the job. And now he’s refusing to give the Senate a chance to convict Trump.

If Joe Biden is inaugurated before the State convicts Trump, that’s hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, going to Trump post-presidency. His businesses may be bankrupt and that’s pretty funny, but without a conviction, McConnell would be allowing our money to go to him—when all he’s done is create bigger rifts between people and hurt the nation in almost irreparable ways. And Mitch McConnell let him. He is still doing his part to let Trump off the hook. Perhaps someone should Google his home address and pay him a visit.
